Open Educational Resources (OER) are freely accessible, openly licensed textbooks, documents, media and more that can be used in teaching, learning, assessment and research.  Higher educators all over the world are embracing OER as a means of lowering textbook costs and creating engaging, highly adaptable, “living” educational materials for students.

TED –  TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks (18 minutes or less).  Visit TED’s website to browse thousands of freely available talks on just about any topic you can think of.

Online instructional videos are becoming a popular supplement to classroom materials for those actively flipping their classrooms to those who are simply interested in creatively supplementing instructional materials.

Doceri – an interactive whiteboard app for iPad. With Doceri, instructors can create interactive, narrated presentations that can saved shared and reused.  For examples of Doceri in action, check out professor Amy Cohen’s series of Greek instructional videos.

Screencastomatic – a browser based tool for recording screen activity with audio narration.  Users can create short tutorials and visual presentations.  Editing abilities require premium subscription.
